Perspective

The assignment this week in my digital photography class was to choose two pictures of the same focus shot from different angles. I have chosen two images taken on January 21, 2010 at Cape Zanpa. I shot both with my Canon PowerShot SX20 IS during the late afternoon hours. The tide was coming in and we were watching a storm circle around us while we climbed the coral cliffs. Because of the climbing I didn't have my tripod with me.

Swirl. Original is 3264 x 2448. Displayed here the image is 500 x 375. Focal Length 5. F 2.8. Exposure 1/60.

  1. Beth,
I definitely got to say I enjoyed the second picture the most. The first picture the water looks so calm compared to what you captured in the second one. You can see the height of the rocks as the waves lunge at them. Very nice!!

  2. Both of these are beautiful! I miss warm weather and sunshine!!!!! I love how in the top one you can see where the water is whirlpooling around the rocks.

  3. Nice photos Beth and your blog looks very professional. What did you feel is the contrast between these images.

  4. What great photos Beth, what a difference from one photo to the next. Complete calm, to the powers of the ocean. It is great, I love it.

  5. I like the way you framed the first photo. The contrast of the ocean and rock divide the photo into sections, giving the eye some organization but still keeping great continuity.
One thing that bugged my eye a little was the horizon being crooked in the background, but I can definitely appreciate the diagonal line into it that you created. Cool!

  6. While the first picture is very nice the second picture seems to capture the power of the water
